You are more then the things you survive daily

Integrated Mental Health Counseling and Somatic Experiencing for trauma, anxiety, mood, and addiction recovery.

Everyone's story is different, but one thing that is a commonality for all, is that life will be inherently challenging. These stressful circumstances and experiences can happen very early on in life, for others difficult circumstances and experiences may have come later in life, but both can continue to affect one’s quality of life. When prolonged stress, overwhelming childhood experiences, or other traumatic events occur that exceed the nervous system’s capacity, the emotional and physiological imprint of the experience may become stuck or trapped in the body. Often what we call symptoms or issues—are rooted in the ways our nervous system has learned to cope and manage the emotional aspect of these experiences. Most are stuck in a chronic flight/fight response that overtime takes its toll on the mind and the body. If you are noticing that it feels like you are just trying to survive each day, and seemingly endless attempts to cope and feel better- whether this shows up as in experiencing chronic worry, panic, loops of anxious thought patterns, inability to focus, feeling a lack of connection to others, self, and relationships, substance abuse, feeling on “edge”, depression, or cycles of anxiety and depression -know that you are not broken -and real lasting change is possible.

Addiction Recovery

Supporting individuals at every stage of change using a compassionate, nonjudgemental approach that addresses both behavior and the underlying nervous system patterns

Rather than asking, "What's wrong with you?" I believe a more meaningful question is, "What happened to you, and how has your nervous system learned to protect you?" This perspective allows therapy to move beyond managing symptoms and toward understanding the deeper patterns that shape how we think, feel, and relate to ourselves and others.
